Upė Minija

Kartena – Gargždai – Priekulė – Rusnė

The Minija is a 202 km river in Samogitia and the coastal lowland. It rises in Lake Didovas, flows through Kartena, Gargždai and Priekulė and joins the Atmata (a branch of the Nemunas) near Rusnė. The channel is 5–65 m wide and 0.5 m deep on the riffles to 4 m downstream. The river contains the Minija Ichthyological Reserve with spawning grounds of salmon and other migratory fish, so check the local rules and bans before you fish.

    Total daily catch weight – 5 kg (7 kg in the Curonian Lagoon).
