Why this site exists

The idea came from simple frustration – most "fishing calendars" online rely only on the moon phase and are drawn up a year in advance, without accounting for what the weather will actually be like that day. Yet air pressure, temperature and wind really do have a bigger influence on the bite than the moon phase. So we decided to build a system that calculates a forecast every day from real, real-time weather data, not a fixed annual table.

How it works

Every time you select a lake, the system fetches current meteorological data from the free "Open-Meteo" service – air pressure and its trend, temperature, wind, cloud cover, precipitation, and it also calculates the moon phase. These seven factors are combined into a single algorithm that separately evaluates the bite probability for white fish (bream, roach, tench) and predatory fish (pike, perch, catfish). We additionally calculate a water temperature estimate – since water heats up and cools down far more slowly than air, we use the weekly average air temperature rather than the instantaneous value.

It's important to understand: this is a guideline forecast, not a guarantee. Fish behaviour also depends on many other things – the specifics of a given body of water, bait, location, experience. Our system only helps narrow down when it's worth grabbing your rod, and when it might be better to wait for another day.
